Look, at the risk of tooting our own horn, I have to say that last Friday’s Property Management Conference really was on another level (toot toot!). Over 500 delegates from across Queensland attended the ‘I love PM’ themed event, walking out at the end of the day with a renewed energy and love for their profession. Anecdotally, we knew it was well-received on the day but what really cemented it was this comment from a first-time attendee;
“This was my first conference, but I LOVED it! Can’t wait for the next one. Being new to the industry, it reinforced the fact that what I have learnt, I do understand. And that what we do at the real estate where I work is correct. I feel a lot more confident in my job now. THANK YOU”.

And that’s what it’s all about – thank you Erica!
And to top off that feel-good moment, I’m pleased to report that interest in joining our Bridge to Brisbane team (raising money for The Smith Family) has taken off too. We have received expressions of interest from many an agency who attended the conference.
If you haven’t heard, the REIQ officially joined forces with The Smith Family to help young Australians in need, formally announcing the new partnership at the conference on Friday.
The partnership will see the REIQ and our members fundraise for the educational charity through donations, sponsorships, as well as hosting a team of agents in this year’s Bridge to Brisbane.
REIQ CEO Anton Kardash said that when the REIQ was looking for a new way of giving back to the community, The Smith Family was a natural fit.
‘‘The REIQ was first established in 1918 to improve the educational standards of real estate agents and all these years later we continue to have education at the very heart of what we do,’’ he said.
‘‘Likewise, The Smith Family recognises that education is the key to providing better futures for young people in need.
‘‘Our aim is to support as many young Queenslanders in need as possible because every child deserves a chance for a better future,’’ he said.

So all in all, it was a very successful day for all involved. Thanks to the speakers, sponsors and staff for their valued contribution. Most of all, we would like to thank all the attendees who LOVE property management enough to attend our event. Until next year!
Here’s a few pics from the day.
