Regional Queensland is the heart of the state

posted in: Industry events, Training | 0

Queensland is unusual in the way the population is spread throughout the state. We have a decentralised population, with more than half (52 per cent, or 2,419,724 people) living in regional centres outside of Greater Brisbane, according to ABS 2016 Census data.

More people live in regional Queensland than in the capital city. This is unique to Queensland and sometimes can present challenges for those organisations that are based in Brisbane but connected closely with regional Queenslanders.

This population spread means that Queensland is fairly equally divided – we have a regional hub and a metropolitan hub and both population groups tend to have different values, different priorities and different needs.

Federal election

The federal election saw regional Queensland stand up and make its voice heard, demanding its concerns be known and ensuring the needs of these regional communities were front and centre.

What a fantastic result for regional Queensland – to be recognised and heard! This is the Queensland way – to stand up and be counted!

Real Estate Training in Regional Qld

It is with this mindset that the REIQ has recognised the needs of regional Queensland, understanding that the training and networking events that we host in the southeast corner of the state are not always easy or convenient for those in regional Queensland to attend.

So we’re bringing the REIQ to regional Queensland, delivering the best of everything that is on offer to the rest of the state in a Roadshow event that is like no other training we’ve ever delivered.

This is a full day of training, with sessions tailored to property managers and to sales agents. There are sessions that no principal can afford to miss and plenty of help and support for those who are new to the real estate profession.

The REIQ Roadshow is training for the heartland, for the majority of Queenslanders who don’t happen to live in Brisbane.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said the training was designed to meet the needs of regional Queenslanders.

“We are often asked if we could bring the Summit to regional Queensland and so this is a direct response to the feedback from members.

“We’ve put the best of our Summit into one day-long session and we’ve included networking drinks at the end so members can connect with their peers and regional colleagues in a relaxed environment.

The Real Tour Roadshow begins June 11 in Cairns and moves down the coast, hitting the major regional centres throughout June before finally wrapping up in August at the Gold Coast and Toowoomba.

“This is unique training for a unique state. We’ve answered the needs of the real estate community with this special event,” Ms Mercorella said.

“I’m excited and looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
